A company’s presence on Social Media can either elevate their brand to the next level or lead to its downfall, depending on how they play the system. Most established companies have entire departments focusing on dominating social media, while new startups think of the most creative things to post in order to attract attention. At the end of the day all social media sites are full of different types of ads trying to get the attention of customers. Here are some things I noticed about the company I selected.
First off, their posts never contained much text, it was always short, simple, and to the point. This works, because when people see huge paragraphs, they usually will back out of reading the post and in turn the ad fails. They do, however, always post a little blurb which leads into a link to some type of article, product, tickets, etc. A large majority of the posts also include colorful photos or videos with them that give the consumers more information on what’s being talked about. This strategy works for them as you can see posts like this have more likes, comments, and shares that posts with plain text.
Second, being an international brand, the company makes posts all throughout the day and night so the messages they want each region to see are seen. Although all in English, many languages have the feature that translates posts into them. As a result, they post just as much at midnight and 4 am as they do during daytime in the United States where they are based. All of this ensures all their main markets see their posts regularly, as after a few hours pass they will be lower down on an international consumers timeline. All in all, they have social media set up in a way that targets all markets.
As an established brand, this company has it all figured out in terms of social media. Every post is methodical and has a meaning or call to action. As a result, the company sees high levels of consumer interactions, which in turn equate to sales and a successful company.
